Simplified access to Copilot Chat on the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app
Access to Copilot Chat on the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app will be simplified by removing restrictions from the Intune policy and “Analyze content” privacy control. This change, rolling out August to September 2026, requires no admin action but may affect organizational controls and documentation. What and Why: We’re simplifying access to Copilot Chat inthe Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app (iOS and Android). With this update, twolegacy mobile-only controls will no longer restrict Copilot Chat access in themobile app: the Intune policy “com.microsoft.office.officemobile.BingChatEnterprise.IsAllowed” and Privacycontrol “Analyze content”. This change helps provide a more consistentCopilot Chat experience across mobile, web, and desktop for users who arealready allowed to access Copilot Chat. Rollout Schedule: General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out on mid-August 2026 and expect to complete by late September 2026. Impact on your organization: The following controls will no longerrestrict Copilot Chat access in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app: The Intune policy “com.microsoft.office.officemobile.BingChatEnterprise.IsAllowed”. The “Analyze content” privacy control. With this, affected users will regainaccess to Copilot Chat in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app, consistent withtheir access on web and desktop apps. This change is on by default. No actionis required from users. Action Required/Recommendations: No admin action is required for thischange. You may want to: Review whether your organization currently relies on the Intune app configuration key com.microsoft.office.officemobile.BingChatEnterprise.IsAllowed or the “Analyze content” privacy control to restrict Copilot Chat on the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app. Review the updated Learn article to learn more about these controls. Inform your helpdesk or support teams so they can respond to questions from users who regain access to Copilot Chat on the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app. Update internal documentation that references these controls as a way to restrict Copilot Chat access on mobile. If your organization needs to restrict Copilot Chat on the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app, review available administrative options, including using Integrated Apps settings to block Copilot across web, desktop, and mobile, or blocking the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app to restrict mobile access.
