Microsoft Teams: Channel Agent Feature Updates

Microsoft Teams’ Channel Agent, a Copilot-powered assistant, is updated to support file-based grounding from Channel SharePoint, enhanced task and report management, GitHub MCP integration, and multilingual support. Introduction We’re introducing a set of enhancements to Channel Agent, a Copilot-powered assistant in Microsoft Teams channels that helps users manage tasks, generate reports, and collaborate more effectively using natural language. These updates improve how users interact with generative AI for project management and localization. Channel Agent now supports file-based grounding from Channel SharePoint and smarter task handling — making it more intuitive and responsive across diverse work scenarios. This message applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, Teams for the web, and Teams for iOS/Android. When this will happen: Targeted Release: Rollout begins mid-November 2025; expected to complete by late December 2025.
