Microsoft 365 profile card: View dotted-line managers in the organization panel

Microsoft 365 profile cards will show dotted-line managers in the organization panel starting October 2026, helping users understand complex reporting structures. This additive update requires organizations to provide dotted-line manager data via HR systems like SAP SuccessFactors or Workday. No action is required unless enabling this feature. We’re introducing an additive user interface update to the organization panel in the Microsoft 365 profile card that can display a person’s dotted-line manager relationship, in addition to their direct manager, when that data is available. This update helps employees better understand organizational structures in companies where reporting relationships span projects, business units, regions, or functions. Rollout schedule General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins in early October 2026 and is expected to complete by late October 2026. Impact on your organization Who is affected Users in organizations that provide dotted-line manager relationship data.
