Microsoft Whiteboard content is now viewable in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery

Microsoft Whiteboard content in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery can now be viewed directly as readable HTML without downloading files. This rollout, completing by April 2026, improves compliance review workflows and applies automatically with existing permissions and controls intact. No user action is required. Introduction To improve compliance and legal review workflows, Microsoft is enhancing how Microsoft Whiteboard content appears in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery. Based on customer feedback, Whiteboard artifacts returned in eDiscovery search sets can now be opened and reviewed directly in a readable HTML format, eliminating the need to download and open files separately in the Whiteboard app. When this will happen: This capability is rolling out now and will complete by late April 2026.
