Microsoft Copilot for Outlook: New Copilot entry point in Classic Outlook
Microsoft is updating the Copilot entry point in classic Outlook to a new location next to the ribbon, offering AI-powered, contextual recommendations. This change, rolling out worldwide from late August to October 2026, requires no action but should be communicated to users and support teams. What and why We are updating the entry point for Copilot in Outlook to be more visually appealing and consistent. Located next to the Outlook ribbon, the Copilot entry point makes it easier for users to discover and use Copilot as they work. In addition to chat, it also surfaces contextual, AI-powered recommendations based on the task at hand, such as reading email, composing messages, or managing a calendar. With a single click, users can act on these suggestions to quickly summarize content, draft responses, organize information, and accomplish tasks more efficiently. The experience is designed to bring relevant Copilot capabilities closer to the user’s workflow while providing a consistent Copilot experience across Microsoft 365 applications. This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 567007.
