Microsoft Viva Engage: New AI Summarization features available in Conversation analytics
Microsoft Viva Engage will introduce AI Summarization features in conversation analytics for premium licensed tenants starting late March 2025. Admins can manage access policies via Feature Access Management. AI themes and summaries will be available for conversations with at least 5 unique repliers. No admin action is required before the rollout. More AI capabilities are coming soon to conversation analytics in Microsoft Viva Engage. With this rollout, leaders and their delegates in premium licensed tenants will have access to AI themes and summaries in their Engage conversation analytics. In alignment with Microsoft Responsible AI guidelines (What is responsible AI? – Microsoft Support), these AI features will be controlled with the AI Summarization setting in Feature Access Management in Viva. This feature will be available to customers with a license for Engage premium, Microsoft Viva Suite, or Microsoft Viva Employee Communications and Communities. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late March 2025 and expect to complete by early April 2025. The AI summarization control is available now in Feature Access Management in Viva for you to configure your setting preferences. How this will affect your organization: As communicated in MC719651 Microsoft Viva Engage premium: Introducing Viva Feature Access Management (February 2024), global admins or Engage admins can use Feature Access Management in Viva to create these granular access policies for AI summarization: Tenant policy: Automatically includes all users in the tenant. Group-level and user-level policy: Admins can choose individual users and groups that should be part of the access policy. Admins can use tenant and group policies to restrict or enable access to Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI summarization. These granular access policies provide admins with the ability to turn the features On, Off, or On with user opt out.
