Microsoft 365 Apps: Cloud Update – Export Improvements
Microsoft 365 Apps Cloud Update will enhance export capabilities in Inventory and Cloud Update views, adding more device and update details, filtered exports, and new columns like Cloud Update Status. Rollout starts November 2026. No action or compliance changes are needed. What and Why: New export improvements are coming to Cloud Update, making it easier for organizations to access and analyze device data. These enhancements will expand export capabilities across Inventory and Cloud Update device views, include additional device and update information, and allow admins to export filtered results so they can focus on the devices most relevant to their needs. Rollout Schedule: General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out on early November 2026 and expect to complete by late November 2026. Impact on Your Organization: We are enhancing export capabilities in Inventory and Cloud Update to make it easier to get the device data you need for reporting, troubleshooting, and sharing with stakeholders. With this update: Inventory export: Export from the Inventory > All devices view will include the Cloud Update Status column, which indicates whether each device is managed, onboarding, excluded, or not eligible for Cloud Update. Cloud Update device export: You can export device data directly from the Current > Devices and Monthly Enterprise > Devices views. Exports include all table columns, such as rollout wave, update status, and errors. Filtered export: You can apply filters to a device view and export only the matching results, such as devices that are not up to date. This change does not affect which devices appear in Inventory or Cloud Update, or how those devices are managed. Action Required/Recommendations: No preparation or configuration is required. Admins can begin using the new export capabilities as they become available. Compliance considerations: No compliance considerations identified. Review as appropriate for your organization.
