Interact with SharePoint content in Teams channels using agents
SharePoint agents in Microsoft Teams Channels enable users to access and summarize SharePoint content via @mentions without leaving Teams. Rolling out globally from late August to mid-September 2025, this feature is on by default, requires no admin changes, and supports existing governance and compliance controls. Introduction To enhance collaborative access to SharePoint-based knowledge, we’re introducing SharePoint agents in Microsoft Teams Channels. These agents allow users to interact with SharePoint-based knowledge through simple @mentions, allowing quick access to summaries, answers, and file discovery—without leaving the Teams environment. This builds on existing functionality in group chats and meetings, now with the added benefit of persistent visibility and accessibility in channels. This feature will be available on all web and desktop clients (Windows and macOS). A limited set of functionality will also be available on mobile clients.
