Microsoft 365 admin center: New Microsoft Outlook for Windows usage report for Microsoft 365 apps
A new “Outlook for Windows migration progress” report will be available in the Microsoft 365 admin center starting early March 2025. This report will track the adoption of the new Outlook for Windows, requiring no admin action before rollout. Review configurations and notify users about the change. Coming soon to Microsoft 365 admin center: A new Outlook for Windows migration progress report to track the adoption and usage of the new Microsoft Outlook for Windows in your organization. The report provides detailed metrics on the number of active users who have transitioned from classic Outlook for Windows to new Outlook for Windows, to support the rollout of the new Outlook and phase out the classic version. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early March 2025 and expect to complete by late March 2025. How this will affect your organization: This new report will be available by default. The new Outlook for Windows migration progress report in the Microsoft admin center > Microsoft 365 apps > Usage: View image in new tab What you need to do to prepare: This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration to determine the impact for your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation. As the new report and updates roll out, you may observe changes and data difference in Outlook usage within the existing Users chart, changes in Windows/Mac/Mobile/web usage in the existing Platforms chart at the tenant level, and updates to the last activity date of Outlook usage in the user-level table, due to telemetry refinements we have made on the back end.
