Updated My Task experience in Planner
Microsoft Planner’s My Tasks experience will be redesigned for clearer navigation, better task organization, and streamlined task creation, enhancing productivity. The update rolls out worldwide from early to late November 2026, requires no user action, and preserves existing tasks and settings. What and Why: Microsoft is introducing a redesigned My Tasks experience in Planner to help users more easily identify, prioritize, and manage their work. The updated experience provides clearer navigation, improved task organization, and streamlined task creation workflows, enabling users to create and manage tasks more efficiently without leaving their current context. This supports improved personal productivity by helping users focus on the work that requires their attention and reducing friction in everyday task management. Rollout Schedule: General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will occur from early through late November 2026. Impact on Your Organization: Who is affected: All users who access Microsoft Planner and use the My Tasks experience. Platforms/Services: Microsoft Planner Planner on the web Planner task management experiences What will happen: Users will see an updated My Tasks interface in Planner. Navigation within My Tasks will be simplified and easier to understand. Task organization and prioritization experiences will be updated. Users will be able to create tasks through streamlined workflows without leaving their current context. Existing tasks and task data will remain available. No migration or user data movement is required. The feature will be enabled automatically as part of the service rollout. No changes to existing admin policies or configurations are required. Action Required/Recommendations: No action is required. You may want to: Inform helpdesk and support teams of the upcoming user interface changes. Communicate the updated Planner experience to end users who regularly use My Tasks. Review any internal training materials or screenshots that reference the current experience and update them as needed. Monitor user feedback during rollout and adoption.
