Microsoft Teams: Select camera and audio devices in pre-join and during meetings on iPad

Microsoft Teams on iPad now lets users select external audio and video devices from the pre-join screen and during meetings. This feature, enabled by default since September 2025, improves meeting flexibility without needing iPad settings changes. No admin action is required. To improve meeting flexibility and user experience, Microsoft Teams now allows users on iPad to select external audio and video devices directly from the pre-join screen and during meetings. This enhancement supports users who rely on external peripherals for improved meeting quality and simplifies device switching without needing to access native iPad settings. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout began in mid-August 2025 and completed in early September 2025. How this will affect your organization: Who is affected: All users who join Microsoft Teams meetings using iPads. What will happen: Users will see new options to select external microphones, speakers, and cameras in the pre-join and in-meeting experience. This feature is enabled by default; no admin configuration is required. Existing device settings and policies remain unchanged.
