Re: Power BI July 2026 Feature Summary

Re: Power BI July 2026 Feature Summary

I noticed a weird behavior that I hope is a bug and not working as intended.

Typically when adding a visual with a category, like Product, it will default to light blue, dark blue, orange, etc. the default PBI color palette.

I have noticed that if I add a second visual with a different category, like License Type, it will not reset to the first color again, but keep going. So if Product has 7 values, the first value in license type will grab the 8th color value, instead of the light blue default.

And somehow now that becomes the category's default coloring. if I create a new page and add license type it still starts with color 8.

Please tell me this is not intended. It is really difficult to differentiate colors in a visual using this technique and we have to rely on the primary default colors to drive differentiation.
