SharePoint button web part: Add custom Copilot in SharePoint prompts or start Power Automate flows

The SharePoint Button web part will support launching custom Copilot prompts or Power Automate flows, enhancing productivity and automation. Available from late July 2026, it affects SharePoint page owners, Copilot-licensed users, and flow-authorized users, with no admin action required. Existing buttons remain unchanged. What and Why: Microsoft is expanding the capabilities of the SharePoint Button web part beyond static hyperlinks. Organizations can now create buttons that either launch a predefined prompt in Copilot for SharePoint (for users licensed for Microsoft 365 Copilot) or initiate a Power Automate flow. This enhancement supports Personal and Team Productivity and Business Process Automation by helping users access AI-powered experiences and workflow automation directly from SharePoint pages. Page authors will be able to configure a Button web part to launch a predefined Copilot in SharePoint prompt. Page authors will be able to configure a Button web part to initiate a Power Automate flow using a Flow ID. Copilot in SharePoint prompt buttons will be available only to users who have a valid Copilot license. Power Automate flow buttons can be used by authorized users regardless of Copilot licensing. The feature will be available by default once released; no migration of existing button links is required. No changes are made to existing Button web part configurations.
