Azure Maps Not Displaying After the Power BI September 2026 Update

After updating Power BI Desktop to the September 2026 release, Azure Maps stopped displaying in an existing report.

Other visuals, including tables and slicers, continued to work normally. However, the Azure Maps area remained blank, with neither the basemap nor the location markers appearing.

The affected version was 2.158.1177.0 (26.09). The report’s latitude and longitude field bindings and map display settings remained unchanged.

After installing the August 2026 version of Power BI Desktop and opening the same report, Azure Maps displayed correctly again.

In this case, the issue occurred in the September release but did not occur in the August release. This suggests a possible connection to the September update, although the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.
