Microsoft Teams: Interpreter simultaneous mode enhancements
Microsoft Teams is enhancing Interpreter simultaneous mode with distinct speaker voices, reduced visual distractions, audio activation confirmation, and admin control to disable voice simulation via PowerShell. An in-product feedback feature is added. Updates roll out July 2026, enabled by default for M365 Copilot users. No action required. What and Why We’re introducing enhancements to Interpreter in Microsoft Teams simultaneous mode to improve multilingual meeting clarity and administrative control. These updates expand voice options to improve speaker differentiation, reduce visual distractions for non-Interpreter users, provide audio confirmation on activation, and give admins the ability to disable voice simulation via PowerShell to meet organizational policy or compliance requirements. We’ve also added in-product feedback so users can easily share their input on interpretation quality. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 562035. Users will hear an audio notification when Interpreter is activated, confirming the feature is working. A new in-product feedback mechanism will allow users to share input on interpretation quality directly from within the meeting experience.
