Change to taskbar pinning behavior for M365 Copilot and companion apps

Change to taskbar pinning behavior for M365 Copilot and companion apps

Starting mid-July 2026, Microsoft 365 admin center taskbar pinning will only manage the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, excluding companion apps (Files, Calendar, People). Existing companion app pins remain unchanged. Organizations needing companion app pinning should use Microsoft Intune policies instead. No action required if only Copilot is pinned. What and Why: Microsoft is simplifying taskbar pinning management from the Microsoft 365 admin center by focusing the built-in pinning control exclusively on the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. Companion apps (Files, Calendar, and People) will no longer be pinned through this control.
