Microsoft 365 Copilot: Capture voice notes in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app

Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app introduces a Record feature to capture voice notes and conversations, providing AI-generated transcripts and summaries in Copilot Chat. Available from late August 2026, recordings are stored in OneDrive with enterprise-grade security and compliance, governed by existing Microsoft 365 policies. What and why We’re introducing Record in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app. This feature enables users to capture in-person conversations or record voice notes and receive an AI-generated transcript and summary in Copilot Chat after recording ends. Record helps users capture important information wherever work happens and quickly transform spoken content into actionable summaries. Built on Microsoft 365’s enterprise-grade security, compliance, and manageability capabilities, recordings and generated content remain governed by the same controls that protect users’ Microsoft 365 data. Rollout schedule Frontier preview: Available to Frontier customers beginning in late July 2026  General Availability (Worldwide): Beginning in late August 2026 and is expected to be complete by late September 2026 Impact on your organization Who is affected Users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license Users of the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app on iOS or Android Admins managing Microsoft 365 productivity apps Platforms and services Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app Copilot Chat OneDrive for Business Microsoft Purview compliance solutions Microsoft Intune What will happen Users will see a new Record option in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app. Record is available from the plus (+) menu in the Copilot Chat prompt box alongside attachment options such as photos and files. The feature is enabled by default for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Users can record in-person conversations or voice notes and receive an AI-generated transcript and summary in Copilot Chat after recording ends. Audio recordings are uploaded to the user’s OneDrive for Business after recording is stopped. Individual recordings can be up to 120 minutes in length. Recording can continue while the app runs in the background and the user switches between applications.
