Microsoft Purview compliance portal: New and updated Sensitive Information Types (SITs)

Microsoft Purview compliance portal is getting updated with new sensitive information types (SITs). To improve the accuracy and coverage of out-of-the-box SITs, seven new SITs have been added and two existing SITs have been updated. The rollout is expected to begin in mid-May and end by the end of May. These new and updated SITs will be used in Microsoft Purview compliance solutions, including Data Loss Prevention, Auto Labeling, Communication Compliance, and Microsoft Cloud App Security. The new SITs include identity card numbers and passport numbers from UAE, South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. The definition of two existing SITs, Japan Bank and Washington State Driver's License number, has been updated. Businesses do not need to take any action to enable these changes, and their existing policies, including DLP policies, need not be altered.

Stay ahead of sensitive information types in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal without any action with the help of this update, making it simpler for your organization to identify and safeguard sensitive information. Visit the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to get started with the sensitive information types.
