Power Platform – Mask sensitive data with column-level security public preview announcement
If you're concerned about securing sensitive data within your organization, Power Platform's latest public preview announcement may be of interest to you. Starting August 30, 2024, a new feature that allows you to mask sensitive data with column-level security will be available in commercial clouds.
This feature builds upon the existing ability to secure a sensitive column and only allow highly privileged users to see the data in plain text. With the new feature, unauthorized users will be unable to access the data at all, as it will be obfuscated through masking rules.
The Maker portal allows administrators and makers to create masking rules, enable secured columns, and set permissions for security profiles. Masking rules can be created and managed through the Maker portal, and column-level security can be managed for the protection of sensitive data.
If you're interested in learning more about this new feature, make sure to check out the links provided in this post. Remember, no action is required at this time, and this post serves as a message of awareness for the upcoming feature.
