Save a meeting event as a draft in Outlook on iOS

Outlook on iOS will allow users to save meeting events as drafts starting late January 2026. Drafts appear with a “[Draft]” label and require no admin setup. This feature helps users pause and resume meeting invitations and applies to all Exchange Online-connected users. We’re introducing the ability to save meeting events as drafts in Outlook on iOS. This update helps users start a meeting invitation, pause, and return to it later, providing more flexibility when scheduling on mobile devices. This message is associated with Microsoft Roadmap ID 545895. When this will happen General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in late January 2026 and is expected to complete by late February 2026. How this affects your organization Who is affected: All users creating calendar events in Outlook on iOS connected to Exchange Online. What will happen: Users will see a new option to save an in-progress meeting as a draft when dismissing an event with at least one attendee: View image in new tab View image in new tab Draft events will appear on the calendar with a “Draft” label in the title: View image in new tab The feature is on by default and requires no admin configuration. No changes are made to existing policies or settings. What you can do to prepare No admin action is required. You may choose to: Inform users about the new “Save as Draft” option in Outlook for iOS.
