Microsoft 365 Copilot | Microsoft Viva Insights: New admin settings for advanced insights and personal insights
Microsoft Viva Insights will introduce new admin settings for advanced and personal insights in Microsoft 365 Copilot by April 2025. Global admins will have more control over insights at the tenant level. The rollout will start in early March 2025 and complete by mid-March 2025. No admin action is required before the rollout. We are pleased to announce that Microsoft Viva Insights will provide more granular admin controls in Microsoft 365 Copilot for Viva Insights features. As mentioned in MC1009917 (published February 2025), Viva Insights will be included in Microsoft 365 Copilot by April 2025, enabling qualifying customers to access Microsoft 365 Copilot analytics powered by Viva Insights. You can change the settings for advanced insights and personal insights at tenant level before April 2025. What’s new New controls for global admins to manage access to Viva Insights advanced insights at the tenant level (requires a Viva Insights or Microsoft 365 Copilot license) Separate admin controls for the Microsoft 365 Copilot Dashboard (requires 10+ Viva Insights assigned licenses or 50+ assigned Copilot licenses), the personal insights web app experiences (requires a Microsoft 365 license), and updated end user controls for personal insights This message applies to Viva Insights for Windows desktop, Viva Insights for the web, and Viva Insights for iOS/Android. When will this happen General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early March 2025 and expect to complete by mid-March 2025. How this will affect your organization 1. New controls for admins to manage advanced insights for the entire tenant After this rollout, the Microsoft 365 global admin can manage enablement of advanced insights for the entire tenant in the Microsoft 365 admin center using Microsoft PowerShell cmdlets and in Microsoft Admin center. This is a tenant-level policy, not a user-level policy or group-level policy. Advanced insights will be on by default. You can turn off advanced insights if needed.
