Power BI December 2023 Feature Summary

Power BI December 2023 Feature Summary
Materials: Voiceover recording (audio file(s)) Video slides (image files) Demo videos (video files) Bumper animation (https://microsoft.sharepoint.com/:v:/t/PowerBI/ESlLuQT7rN5Ki-CqE9KXtxoBWRVsgNnKFxo7aZmMQNZrkA?e=XhafQu) Process: Create a new Camtasia project and drag the materials into the Clip Bin. The video starts with the first 3 seconds of the bumper animation with the last 1 second dedicated to the “Slide left” transition. Create a new track, then drag the bumper animation from the clip bin to the start of the video. Drag the right edge of the bumper animation to the left to shrink the clip on the track until it only lasts 3 seconds. From the Transitions tab, drag the “Slide left” transition onto the right side of the clip. Put the title slide (usually the 2nd slide on the list, where the first will eventually be used for the video thumbnail) onto a track beneath the bumper so that the bumper animation will slide left and reveal the title slide. We’ll stay on the title slide until the voiceover transitions into talking about the new features. Then we add the first feature slide, and we’ll change slides when we start talking about features on the next slide. Put the voiceover on another track. Edit the voiceover to make sure the narration is smooth and the audio is good: Consider adjusting volume levels or enabling noise removal to improve audio quality. Click the audio tab to see and adjust volume levels for clips you’ve added to your video on the tracks, and to apply noise removal etc. Cut pieces out of the voiceover where there are extraneous sounds, overly long pauses, multiple takes, etc. You can split a clip by moving the time line to a point on the clip, selecting the clip, then clicking the “split” button or pressing the S key. You can delete clip segments by clicking the segment and pressing backspace. So for example, where the narrator pauses an overly long time, we might split the audio once right after they start their pause and once before they start talking again, delete the clip segments in between, and move the beginning and end segments together so that the pause was shorter. Make sure the pace of speech continues to feel natural. The point is not to remove all pauses, it’s to keep things smooth and natural to help the audience pay attention to the content without distraction. Some audio will take no editing. Some audio will take a lot! Try to keep audio from different sources relatively consistent. Pay attention to the different volume levels of different demos/narrators and try to make sure no one is too quiet or loud. Where demo videos will be added, cut the narration segment off, add in the video in a track above the slide, and then bring back the narration after the demo is over. Sometimes, you’ll have to adapt to demo videos not being proportioned correctly. Ideally, people have followed instructions when submitting demo videos, but sometimes they haven’t and it’s too late to get them to re-record. Consider putting the video over a full screen filled rectangle so that it doesn’t just look like it sits on top of the slides, or find another solution to whatever the problem may be. End the video with the full 6 second bumper. When the video is done, select Produce and Share -> MP4 only (1040p) -> select where to save the file -> start rendering the video. When you have the video MP4, upload to SharePoint and proceed to next step. Graphical user interface Description automatically generated
