Microsoft OneNote: Retirement of Loop components in OneNote for the web

Microsoft is retiring Loop components in OneNote for the web by mid-September 2026. Users can no longer insert Loop components there, but existing ones will become links to Loop pages. Full Loop functionality remains in the OneNote desktop app for Windows. No data will be lost; no admin action is needed. Microsoft is retiring support for Microsoft Loop components in OneNote for the web. After this change, users will no longer be able to insert Loop components while using OneNote for the web. To support a smooth transition, existing Loop components on OneNote pages will not be removed and no data will be lost. Existing Loop components will be replaced with links that open the corresponding Loop pages, allowing users to continue accessing and editing their content. The full Loop component experience will continue to be available in the OneNote desktop app for Windows. This change is intended to streamline the OneNote for the web experience while preserving access to existing Loop content.
