Microsoft OneDrive: Annotate PDFs with text boxes

Microsoft OneDrive now unveils a new feature allowing users to annotate PDFs with text boxes, set to be rolled out from mid-May to early June 2024. With this new update, users can easily edit and add text to PDFs in Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint without any need for administrative action. Simply opening the file and using the 'Edit' and 'Add Text' commands will suffice. Through this feature, PDF files can be annotated and saved with text boxes in Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint. This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 387807 and will be globally available.

To use the annotation feature in OneDrive, users can select 'Edit' when viewing the desired PDF file and then 'Add Text' to enter text boxes. From there, users can change the text box's color and adjust its font size by using the menu above it. Once finished, simply click 'Save changes' located in the top left corner of the screen to exit the editing mode and save the changes made to the PDF. It is recommended to notify users of this automatic rollout, while no administrative action is required.
