Add Individual File Shortcuts in OneDrive Web

In early November, Microsoft 365 began rolling out the ability to create shortcuts to files stored in other people's OneDrives and document libraries, allowing for easier access to files within your OneDrive. These shortcuts can be moved and renamed without affecting the source content and will be available across all OneDrive file lists, as well as document libraries browsed within SharePoint and Teams. Users will be able to add shortcuts to "My files" or "Other locations," with a default name for the shortcut being the name of the source file with a .url extension. However, it's important to note that sharing a shortcut file or moving it to a shared location will not automatically grant access to the source file, and users must still share the source file directly to allow access. Overall, this update provides a useful tool for users looking to streamline their workflow within OneDrive.
