Microsoft Outlook for iOS/Android: New formatting options for composing emails

Microsoft Outlook for iOS/Android will introduce new formatting options for composing emails, including font size selection, default font settings, and format painter/eraser tools. Rollout starts in June 2025 and completes by July 2025. Admins can manage these settings via mobile application management solutions like Microsoft Intune. No pre-rollout action required. In response to feedback from you, our customers, we will add support for even more formatting options when composing in the Microsoft Outlook apps for iOS or Android. Users will be able to choose font size, set a default font, as well as clearing and painting formatting. As admins, you will have new options for configuring default formatting settings for the users in your organization. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 411581. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High): We will begin rolling out early June 2025 and expect to complete by early July 2025. How this will affect your organization: Users will have an option to update font size (left and center) and will be able to access to format painter and format eraser (right) from the formatting toolbar while composing: View image in new tab Users will be able to set a default font and size in the app settings using this sequence (left to right): View image in new tab The new options will be available by default. Organizational admins can manage default settings for users in your organization with an app configuration setting from your mobile application management solution such as Microsoft Intune.
