Teams user/device usage report and Graph API data source change
In a recent update to the Teams usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center, the data source was revamped to increase accuracy. However, this resulted in inconsistencies between the usage data reported by Microsoft 365 and Teams admin centers. To address this issue, Teams admin center usage reports and end user analytics will now use the same underlying data source as the Microsoft 365 Admin Center Teams usage reports. This will bring consistency to individual usage metrics and refresh frequency of reporting data across different reporting surfaces and Graph APIs. The changes are currently available in preview and will roll out progressively for public and government cloud customers in late September through early October. The updates will include the inclusion of more reporting metrics, historical usage data up to 180 days and usage for Line of business applications.
