Microsoft Teams: Updates to sharing app content in a meeting

Microsoft Teams: Updates to sharing app content in a meeting

Microsoft Teams is enhancing the app sharing experience in meetings with new updates. A Public Developer Preview will begin in mid-April 2024, followed by General Availability in mid-May 2024. Non-collaborative apps can be shared with one-click, and developers can enable the sharing of specific app parts. No user education is necessary for the rollout. The Teams JavaScript client library SDK - Teams | Microsoft Learn can be used by app developers to implement these new features. Collaborative apps like Microsoft Whiteboard and Mural will still have their one-click sharing option available, and the new features can be used alongside Live Share. With this update, meeting participants will be able to share non-collaborative apps as a view-only experience from the app panel. Users can click the small Share icon to share the non-collaborative apps. This feature does not replace the existing collaborative experience in Teams Live Share, and it won't require user education.
