Microsoft Teams: Automatic tags (@mentions) by department and job title

Microsoft Teams: Automatic tags (@mentions) by department and job title

Microsoft Teams is set to introduce a new feature called automatic tags that allows users to reach out to their colleagues in specific departments or job titles via @mentions in channel conversations. Team owners no longer have to manually create or manage tags as they are automatically generated based on attribute values mapped by administrators in the Teams Admin Center. The feature is expected to roll out in mid-February 2024 for targeted release and late February 2024 for standard release. The availability of automatic tags depends on the attribute mapping and enabling of the feature at the team level by the team owner. Adopting automatic tags will enable end users to easily direct their messages to their preferred job titles and departments, making communication much more efficient and streamlined.
