Planner: Announcing public preview of Project Manager agent

Microsoft 365 has introduced the public preview of its new Project Manager agent. This agent automates specific tasks and provides specialized skills and knowledge to the team or the organization. It takes on unique roles, working alongside or on behalf of teams, and handles both simple and multi-step business processes. The new project manager agent is available within Planner to automate project and task management and completes tasks. Users with the ability to create Loop Workspaces enabled can create Project Manager plans in Planner within Microsoft Teams. These plans contain features like the ability to create a project from scratch or a template, assign tasks, complete tasks, generate outputs for team collaboration, and add a Whiteboard tab to create whiteboards directly within the plan. Project Manager is on by default for users with the required licenses. The rollout of this new feature will begin in late November 2024 and continue through the first half of 2025, starting with North America and then moving to other regions. No admin action is required before the rollout, and users must have Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

It is important to note that this rollout will happen automatically by the specified date and there is no need for admin action before the rollout. However, if anyone wants to disable Project Manager before the admin control is available, they should open a support request with Planner support.
