Default Environment – How to handle?
The default environment in any Azure tenant is a tricky thing to handle for most users, as it is automatically created and accessible to all users within the tenant. However, managing this default environment is possible with appropriate strategies. Power Platform users have to deal with this dilemma sooner or later, and this post explains how.
The author suggests that one strategy is to limit the usage in the default environment and employ another environment for any real work. They recommend creating a fresh PowerApps environment, promoting it as the intended working environment and setting some guidelines to ensure employees only use the default environment for practice purposes. Setting up security mechanisms, such as permissions in the Default Solution, is also suggested to ensure only authorized individuals can access or edit the default environment. With these strategies in place, users can securely manage, use and control default environments without running into problems.
To sum up, this post is an excellent resource for Power Platform users looking to manage the default environment effectively. It offers practical and actionable strategies for making the most out of the default environment without hampering the day-to-day operations of the Power Platform.
