Microsoft Stream: Insert and playback videos in Word and PowerPoint
Microsoft Stream now allows users to insert SharePoint videos into both Word and PowerPoint, using the existing “Insert Online Video” feature within those apps. The videos will play inline within the documents and have features such as transcripts, captions, and search, along with playback controls like speed and chapters. These SharePoint videos are stored either in a user's OneDrive Business account or within SharePoint. However, video insertion is not available on mobile devices, and Word for Mac does not support it. Playback will be available on desktop client, web, and mobile, and PowerPoint for Mac is supported. This feature was released in August CY2023 for the web cloud instance. For more information on this feature, please visit the Microsoft Stream roadmap.
