Microsoft Teams admin center: Non-disruptive device operations for Microsoft Teams devices

Microsoft Teams admin center: Non-disruptive device operations for Microsoft Teams devices

The Microsoft Teams admin center now offers a new feature for Android-based Teams devices that ensures device operations are non-disruptive. With this feature, devices can be updated and configured only during idle times, preventing any disruption during active use such as meetings or calls. This feature is set to roll out in late February 2025 and will require updates to the Teams app and admin agent app. This update applies to Teams Rooms on Android, Panels, Phones, and Displays, and will significantly improve user experiences by preventing interruptions during device operations such as software updates, device restarts, and configuration updates. Device admins will have the ability to manage these operations without impacting the end-user experience. For execution, the device status is checked, and if free (no ongoing meeting or call) with no future scheduled events on the calendar, then the operation goes forward.
