Teams Live Event capacity limit extension
Microsoft has officially extended the capacity limit increases for Teams Live Events until June 30, 2024. These increases were originally set to expire on December 31, 2023, but have now been pushed back to allow administrators enough time to train their user base. This extension will allow for Live Events of up to 20,000 attendees, 50 simultaneous events, and an event duration of 16 hours. There is no need for organizations to take any action to receive this extension, as it will be automatically applied to all Live Events until the specified date. However, Teams Live Events users are encouraged to explore the new town hall feature, as it will be the replacement for Live Events after June 30, 2024. If you wish to run events of up to 20,000 attendees and more than 15 concurrent events after that date, you will need to use the new town hall experience and purchase relevant Teams Premium licenses for additional capacity.
