Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a portfolio of intelligent, cloud-based business applications spanning Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and mixed-reality operations. Every application is built on Microsoft Dataverse, shares a common data model, and integrates natively with Microsoft 365, the Power Platform, and Azure — enabling organisations to unify front-office and back-office operations on a single, extensible platform.
CRM Applications
The Dynamics 365 CRM suite includes Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, and Customer Insights — Journeys (Marketing). These applications share contact, account, and activity data through Dataverse, and embed AI-powered Copilot features for summarisation, next-best-action, email drafting, and meeting transcription.
ERP Applications
The Dynamics 365 ERP suite includes Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Central, Commerce, Human Resources, and Project Operations. These applications provide financial management, procurement, manufacturing, warehouse management, and project delivery capabilities for mid-market and enterprise organisations.
Extensibility & Power Platform Integration
Dynamics 365 applications are extensible through the Power Platform. Power Apps model-driven apps are built directly on Dataverse. Power Automate automates workflows triggered by Dynamics 365 events. Power BI provides embedded analytics. Power Pages surfaces Dynamics 365 data in external-facing portals. Copilot Studio creates AI agents that interact with Dynamics 365 data through natural language.
Deployment & Licensing
Dynamics 365 is delivered as SaaS on Azure with two major update waves per year (Wave 1 in April, Wave 2 in October). Licensing is per-user per-month, with base and attach licences for multi-app users. Environments are managed through the Power Platform Admin Center.
