Microsoft Mesh app on Meta Quest headsets supports hand interactions

The Microsoft Mesh app on Meta Quest headsets will soon support hand interaction, according to a recent update. This update allows users to interact with and navigate within the app using their hands, enabling a more natural and expressive experience within the app's environment. The feature is set to roll out in November 2024, and users can switch between using motion controllers or their hands while using the app. However, hand tracking must be enabled, and a tutorial is available via the Quest Mesh app to assist users. Event organizers should update their instructions to reflect this change when it becomes available. To use this feature, hand tracking on the Quest device must be enabled via the Settings > Movement settings option.
Overall, this update adds a more immersive and intuitive experience for Microsoft Mesh app users on Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets, allowing them to feel more connected and engaged with others in events hosted using the app. It is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 412360.
