Microsoft Viva: Viva Goals: Admin Option to Enable/Disable sharing to Microsoft Teams in Viva Goals

Microsoft Viva: Viva Goals: Admin Option to Enable/Disable sharing to Microsoft Teams in Viva Goals

Microsoft Viva is set to introduce a new feature to Viva Goals that allows users to share links to goals as rich adaptive cards, complete with progress and status updates. This feature enables users to gain the necessary context required to work towards their goals and update them in Microsoft Teams without having to lose focus or move away from the conversation. As part of this new feature, a menu option to share goals content to Teams will be introduced, and this can be disabled by admins on the Viva Goals admin portal under the sharing permissions section if your tenant does not support Microsoft Teams. This feature will be enabled by default in mid-August 2023, but users can still share using other options such as "Copy link" and "Email".

If you're an admin in charge of Viva Goals, you have the option to enable or disable the sharing of links to goals in Microsoft Teams, which ensures that users can only share content in a way that is compliant with your organization's policies. However, if your tenant does not support Microsoft Teams, you can disable this option, and your users can still make use of other sharing options like email or "Copy link". This feature is expected to roll out from mid-August 2023 and will be completed by late August 2023.

As an end-user, you can easily share links to goals using the rich adaptive cards feature which includes progress and status, and this allows you to work towards your goals while still updating other team members in Microsoft Teams. With Viva Goals, it is now easier than ever before to share your goals with other team members and keep everyone in the loop with updates.
