Fit Gap Analysis

Fit Gap Analysis

The fit gap analysis is an important process for evaluating how well a software solution aligns with the organization's needs and identifying areas of alignment and misalignment. In the world of digital transformation, newer approaches and technologies such as Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics CRM, and Power Platform are designed to adapt to business processes and activities. But requirement gathering and fit gap analysis are still essential to assess the alignment between existing system capabilities and project requirements.

The fit gap analysis comprises of several steps such as current state assessment (as-is), definition of the future state (to be), identifying the gap, analyzing the gap and creating a plan to address the deficiencies. The organization evaluates possible solutions to overcome any deficiencies identified and takes decisions based on factors such as cost, time, resources, and business priorities.

The significance of a fit-gap analysis is that it helps organizations understand the strengths and weaknesses of their current systems or processes, define clear objectives for the future system or process improvements, identify specific areas that need modification or enhancement in the new solution, make informed decisions about the feasibility of implementing new systems or software, and develop a roadmap or action plan to bridge the identified gaps.

Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the final solution caters to stakeholders' expectations and business objectives.
