Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Places – Auto update location with Workplace Presence

Microsoft Teams has introduced a new Workplace Presence feature that automatically updates an employee's location to "office" when they are detected on-site. The feature is triggered by the connection of their laptop to a known peripheral, such as a company-managed monitor or a bookable desk. Coworkers can easily identify who is in the office nearby through this feature. Users can also choose to enable or disable the automatic location update through the Places settings menu in Teams. This new feature is set to be released for general availability on the Mac cloud instance worldwide in November 2024.
