This is not a series

One of the biggest challenges many of us have faced in the last year or so is not having the possibility to connect in real with people. I'm far from being alone being impacted by this constraint and who's affected. Downward spiral, lower inspiration, blank stares, emotional bumpy ride, and much more...

The reactions I've received last summer following my It's OK not to be OK! article were already a sign of not being alone. In the recent weeks, with the uprising of new pandemic wave(s) and the turn of the year, I've witnessed many other community "buddies" go through rough times too.

Maybe you feel "blahhhhh"? Have a read of this great article published in the New York Times, about this feeling and how to name it: Languishing.

SO, in a selfish move, I've determined that one way to help me get back on the saddle of writing, contributing, and sharing would be to talk about some of the people that have crossed my path and with whom I've connected. Under different circumstances, they've helped me out, professionally and/or personally.

This is not a series.... why? Simply put, I have no clue if this will be such. Putting one step in front of the other, that's how I'll take it. (so far, this is my fourth post, following up on my previous post featuring Mark Smith). It's been a while (February), and I want to thank my good friend EY Kalman, the CRM Ninja for motivating me at relaunching these articles.

Who knows, it may help get back that "jive" I used to have and get back at sharing my Power Platform learnings, etc...

I also hope that for those reading this/these article(s) that you'll discover or learn more about these stars or behind the scene superstars. Take the time to connect with them, I recommend it.

With all my love and care, here it goes!

Victor - Super Hero

A dedicated 365 Saturday Ambassador and Power Platform consultant, Victor is always on the lookout for ways to help others become more proficient as business apps professionals. With roots and life experience that has brought him from Brazil, to the USA, then to Canada, he's not shy to support also the Portuguese-speaking community.

A few examples of actions Victor takes, events he manages or supports, thoughts he shares:
Think about .Net Development, Dynamics 365 CE, Portals, F&O, Talent, Marketing, Power BI... Think about Victor. Think about mentorship and professional speaker for business apps events... Think about Victor.

One could think that with all these professional activities that Victor is not dedicated to his family... that's not understanding and knowing the essence of this hero! True love, pride, and time he has and gives to his family... when does he sleep??

Let's play pretend!

My story with Victor

There are a few times in life when you get to meet someone and you know right there that a real connection is happening... that's what happened when I met Victor, as he calls us "brothers from a different mother and dad"!

In summer 2019, Victor reached out to me as he was organizing a couple of 365 Saturday events in Western Canada. That's what triggered our meeting in Victoria, BC later on that fall.

From there on, we've participated together in a few events, such as Empower your career, which had a clear focus on helping people impacted by the pandemic to get onboarded in Power Platform related careers.

The sheer passion that Victor has in "giving" to others, sharing his knowledge, and attracting other professionals to assist him in these events, plus his down-to-the-basics human way of handling personal life, family, and friends are some of the main reasons why I've kept that "open channel" with him.

These are some of the many reasons why I wanted to share my gratefulness and recommend anyone to connect with Victor. To my friendly brother, I want to say thanks and I really appreciate the different opportunities that we have to connect ;-)

Why I recommend you connect with Victor

Besides the human factor, there are many other "professional" reasons I recommend you connect with him. He's very involved in community activities and provides lots of valuable information, tips n tricks about career development focused in the Business Apps industry.

In conclusion

This is just a very brief highlight and represents only a fraction of my gratitude towards one member of the community. I simply hope it will provide you the incentive to connect with this person and allow you to gain from that connection.

This is not a series, but my goal is to repeat this furthermore. Don't hesitate to comment by sharing your feedback about this article or the highlighted star. It will help to keep the motivation :-) Told you, it's a selfish exercise after all!

Please be safe and take care of yourself.
