Securing Modern Software
In this episode of Security Unlocked, Natalia Godyla and Nic Fillingham have a discussion with Chris Wysopal, co-founder, and CTO at Veracode, about securing modern software. Chris, who was one of the first vulnerability researchers at The L0pht, a hacker think tank, has extensive experience in addressing the dangers of insecure software.
During the discussion, Chris provides guidance on secure software development, discusses the best tools for monitoring vulnerabilities in open-source code, and highlights the greatest threats to software development. He also emphasizes the need to be aware of hackers and how to use open-source code safely. The hosts ask important questions focusing on modern secure software development, identifying the biggest threats to software, and secure code ownership in the software development lifecycle.
The rise of the internet in the '90s resulted in an obsession with hacking, but portrayal of hacking in movies has often been inaccurate. Chris identifies many possibilities to turn hacking skills into a legitimate career. This episode provides valuable insights on securing modern software for anyone catching up with modern secure software development.
