Announcing public preview of virtual network support for Power Platform Dataverse plug-ins and Connectors

Microsoft has announced the public preview of virtual network support for Power Platform Dataverse plug-ins and connectors. The Power Platform approach to securing outbound connectivity includes VNet support which is recommended for outbound connectivity from Power Platform services to resources within your network (except Power BI and Power Platform Dataflows). It is optimized for API workloads with high request volume and low execution time and it helps solves problems related to exposing private resources within your VNet to the internet and managing IP ranges or service tags.

VNet Data Gateway on the other hand, is optimized for ETL workloads with low request volume and high execution time. It is used by Power BI and Power Platform Dataflows for outbound connectivity and enhances security for data integration with external sources within your secured private network. This feature is particularly valuable for customers with security and compliance requirements, allowing them to protect outbound traffic from Power Platform effectively.

This new announcement from Microsoft enhances the security of Power Platform and ensures that businesses can securely integrate their data from external sources within their secured private network.
