Managed environments and licensing

In this post, we discuss the relevance of managed environments and licensing in the realm of PowerApps. As more and more features are being made available exclusively through managed environments, many might wonder why not opt for them across the board.

At present, there are four features that are only available in the managed environments. They are:

  • Data Policies
  • Connectivity to on-premises data sources
  • Dataverse Views
  • Advanced Integration with Azure Services

You can find more information about these features in the following link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/managed-environment-overview

This post delves into understanding the reasons for not implementing managed environments across all scenarios. Licensing is one of the crucial factors, which needs to be considered before implementing managed environments.
