Azure OpenAI Service achieves FedRAMP high authorization
The Azure OpenAI Service has recently achieved a significant milestone, receiving the US Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) High Provisional Authorization to Operate (P-ATO) from the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board (JAB). This FedRAMP high authorization will allow the service to be utilized by US government agencies and other organizations that require a heightened level of security.
Previously, Azure Government customers could only access Azure OpenAI Service in the commercial environment. With this new authorization, the Azure OpenAI Service can now be seamlessly integrated into government security environments while adhering to stringent security and compliance requirements. This achievement represents an important step forward in creating advanced AI solutions for government agencies while maintaining the highest level of security.
This latest development highlights Microsoft's continual focus on security and compliance across all their platforms and services, and showcases their commitment to meeting the evolving needs of government agencies, organizations and businesses.
