Decoding NOBELIUM

Decoding NOBELIUM

In December 2020, a group of hackers based in Russia infiltrated numerous enterprises using stolen passwords, vulnerable software code, compromised on-premises servers, and SAML tokens. This supply chain attack allowed the hackers to access SolarWinds code, inject malicious code into a software update, and spread malware to customer systems unnoticed. Microsoft has since shared insights on this attack with the cybersecurity industry and offers a docuseries called "Decoding NOBELIUM" that gives an inside look at one of the most sophisticated nation-state and supply chain attacks in history. Frontline defenders who tracked and dealt with the attack share their stories, providing a unique perspective on the incident. Check out the series and additional resources, including podcasts, to learn more. "Security Unlocked" is a Microsoft-produced series distributed through The CyberWire Network.
