Mitchel Sellers: Architecting .NET MAUI - Episode 254
In this episode of the podcast, Mitchel Sellers, a 15-time Microsoft MVP, talks about .NET MAUI and its architecture standards, performance, stability, security, and overall cost-effectiveness. As CEO of IowaComputerGurus Inc, Mitchel has deep knowledge of software development, architecture, and presentation of more than 400 sessions at user groups and conferences globally. .NET MAUI is the perfect tool to paint your creation with its blend of Xamarin.Forms and .NET. It has caught Mitchel's attention for many reasons and he believes it is ready for use. However, it is important to note that support for Xamarin.Forms will officially end in early 2024.
The podcast dives into the Maui application's functionality, its hybrid model, and analytics. It is important to adopt the best pattern and have a centralized location when working with Maui applications. The analytics need to be overlooked to understand what users are doing with the application. While tools like App Insights from Azure can be awesome to have, they can also get very expensive. When it comes to DevOps, Maui applications can use GitHub actions, and it is pivotal to understand which steps require certain operating-system-hosted agents, and it is equally important to pay attention to continuous integration, automated testing, deployments, and versioning.
