Microsoft 365 Copilot: Sessions grouped by time frame

Microsoft 365 Copilot will group chat history by the latest interaction in each session, categorized by time frames such as “Yesterday” and “Previous 7 days.” This feature will roll out from late February to early March 2025. No admin action is required, but user notification and documentation updates are recommended. A new Copilot feature will organize a user’s chat history by the latest interaction in each session. This will apply to a user’s existing Copilot chat history and any new chats created. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 477358. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in late February 2025 and expect to complete by early March 2025. How this will affect your organization: This feature will impact users as their existing chat history list will now be grouped according to the time the chat prompts were submitted in the following categories: Yesterday Previous 7 days Previous 30 days <Current year> <Current year – 1> If a category does not contain any sessions, that category will not display to the user. Existing functionality such as session deletion and the ability to rename a session remain. Timestamps will no longer display next to each item. View image in new tab What you need to do to prepare: This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate. Message ID: MC1020215
