Shawn Wildermuth: Web Service APIs in .NET 7 - Episode 266
In this episode, Microsoft MVP, Pluralsight author, and filmmaker Shawn Wildermuth joins the discussion on web service APIs in .NET 7. Shawn has been exploring computers and software since receiving his first VIC-20 in the '80s, and with his wealth of experience, he provides valuable insights into the world of API design.
Topics of discussion include the concept of APIs, the categories developers should be aware of, and the newer advances in API design. Along with maturing minimal APIs, endpoint filtering is discussed at length, along with the question of whether core logic should be aware of caching workflow or if caching belongs solely to the interface.
Shawn also touches on how developers can test complete sets of web service APIs and provides advice on helping young developers not feel overwhelmed by the need to be perfect. Additionally, the decision-making process for running applications is also discussed.
If you're interested in delving deeper into the world of APIs, this episode is definitely worth a listen.
